After driving the 2013 Audi S7 for a while, I can share some thoughts not only on the features of the car but also the long term driving and maintenance aspects of the car. What attracted me to this car? I think it has a great mix of looks, performance, and practicality. Could I be more practical and buy a much cheaper car? Yes. But this car hits the highs across the board.
When this car is primed and running well, it is great to hit the highway for a long road trip. I have taken this car up and down the east coast of the United States and its been an entertaining ride all the way. In terms of maintenance, its probably to be expected that its not that cheap to keep this car running in prime condition, especially with some of America’s nasty road conditions. Just the low profile tires alone, cause me many moments of angst as I hit an unexpected pothole. Be prepared to replace the tires on a somewhat regular basis. If you are lucky, you won’t have too many cracked rims. The car is loaded with electronics galore, which is also another way of saying points of failure. Each one of those little electronic glitches to get sorted take time and money to sort out. But if you do keep up the regular maintenance schedule and try to take care around the pot holes, you will be on the road most of the time and enjoying a faster than average car while hauling a family of 4 around in a high degree of comfort. You will also look pretty good while you are doing it.
